Hi bhebhegirl and welcome to TSF It seems as if your Maestro-2 sound-card was added after manufacture. Following the above, I successfully finished the windows installation and installed the drivers i need except for one Aahh Sorry bhebhegirl, I didn’t follow the link through – Having just now tried it, it seems to be another ‘rip-off’ site that wants you to pay I followed the link through to ‘ESS’ sound-card manufacturer and it appears they don’t even support the card any auio, I couldn’t find any mention of it.
I remember when my system had a problem before can’t ausio what it is.
I went to the driver’s properties and clicked the Start button but it’s not working. Everything’s working fine until the problem I just described above.
I downgraded it to XP earlier this yearfor a faster performance.

Obviouslly there will be some like JEMM games and their ilk but most games should work fine. I’m just not sure if he took it to a technician or asked one of his employees that’s good in computers to fix it.
I googled for answers and i found out that it has something to do with a driver and windows refuses to install the driver that’s why it won’t continue.

It stops at the bootscreen while the bar is moving xp loading sorta. As the Realtek chipset is not listed, I’d guess it is faulty. Copyright -Tech Support Forum. After looking round the pages suggested by Google, it’s apparent to me that your soundcard has very poor driver support support in the real sense anyhow. It’s also ancient and I cannot find any working DL links for the drivers. When i reach the installation setup the installation stops when it reaches 34mins when installing drivers and restarts and still, occassionally flashing the blue screen when it restarts.
DOS support is offered by Windows drivers. I’m not sure if the games aidio run using some of the DX acceleration features of the card or in software D3D
