I have done the same as you describe thinking the drive is ok since it copied files but the drive failed. Go to asus website and download the drivers for sata disks. I determined that there were no hardware problems, so the fault was probably with the OS, APIC mode settings or with my computer’s problem with recognizing the XP installation sequence. I hope you all find this information useful I’m pretty sure my “cure” will never end up on Microsoft’s troubleshooting web site! We tried all we could think about. Need more information about this product? I will look into it though.

Trouble installing 2 WD Sata on Asus a7n8x-e deluxe

It boots fine but now I get blue screen often saying that windows is shutting down to avoid harm to my components. If I reset it will do the same problem.
